For sale is a GM 4x4 K case 700R4 with a Hughes Performance Tow Master 1800r stall torque converter. The 700R4 was rebuilt by a transmission builder with the following upgrades: 5 pinion front and rear planetary gears - factory GM parts, Beast Sun shell - thick billet steel, Corvette servo, New band clutches bushes seals washers gaskets, 10 vein pump rotor, Drilled out plate, New sprag.

The transmission rebuild was completed 5 years ago and has roughly 20,000 miles on it. The torque converter was installed within the last few years. Both were ran behind a 6.5 diesel and were pulled from the truck about a year ago. Switching to a manual transmission so do not need these anymore.

$1,000 OBO

yeah that's a good deal the converter is almost 700 new at summit. question do recall the rpm you used commonly in 2nd and 3rd gear, towing around town?

I do not specifically, but I did drum up this calculator that gives me an estimation of what RPMs to expect in each gear at different speeds. This is all math so it doesn’t account for hill climbs, towing etc. and it is specific to the gear ratios, tire size, and transfer case I’m using, so final results may vary.

But I can say, I was always satisfied with how the truck drove.

that's cool. I was wondering how much the converter would spend on the stall in the lower gears. 25 in 3rd is right on the stall. You and I have the same gears but different size tires. I roll around town in 3rd unlocked a lot. Am using 1600 stall converter.

I had my converter on a manual switch so I could control it, and I don’t think I ever locked it until I was on the highway.

Same here I used to lock it in 2nd and 3rd. I didn't like the way it bumped when up shifting from 2nd to 3rd. Also not sure how much torque the converter can handle in 2nd so I stopped using it. I'll lock 3rd if the trans is getting hot. but only on levelish ground.

So it has diesel governor and if going behind a gasser will likely need a governor swap?
