This GM CORPORATE 14-BOLT rear end was free and my 91 1/2 ton Burb needs a replacement. The ring gear has 45 teeth, I think this came out of a Dodge PU. I'm looking for some direction on rebuilding it. Do I need any info on the pinion to know what gear ratio this is?
Thank You

happy reading . :thumb:

and stupid easy axle to start with for regear new people.

and if those seal / spindle areas look as bad as i can see might wana wash the hell out of the housing and even think about speedie sleave's for the seal area or newer axle seal swap to the spinning seal design that the inner dosnt spin on the spindle.

I plan on cleaning up the outer case, I don't know what year vehicle the axle came out of. I'll read the above links, thanks.

Update

4.10 gears with a gov-loc. Question on length- It's 50-1/4" roughly from perch hole to perch hole and it's stamped KNCG3152? This is much wider than my Sub?

bet its out of a 88-up body style.

our old trucks are 1/2 and 3/4 ton 42.5"

and 1 ton is at a 40.5" size.

i know the 88-up stuff went wider on the frame rail width and this moved out the springs and perches.

This is good information, where is the most common point to measured from? Inside perch to inside perch, center to center or outside to outside? Thank You.

I checked out our 91 Sub and I'm looking at 45-1/2" between center pins?

I stand corrected 42-1/2". Any idea what vehicle this 14 bolt came from @ 50-1/4" pin to pin?

I have to agree with sweetk30 on this one.
