Where is the best place to buy these? looking for a tbi 350, and a vortec 350...….cant find either online for less than 3k! I swear last year I was looking for one and they were just under 2 grand.

Jegs had the best price last time I bought one

Blame it on 2020 everything is getting more costly. 350s are no longer the most cost effective engine to buy.

Eh, “maybe not”
I couldn’t find a decent 6.0 with all the parts for less than $3k, and it’s still used. So depending on your area.

Priced having mine rebuilt, $2500 with no extra specials

GM reintroduced the TBI and L31 crate engines this year(?) and about doubled the price when they did. Not sure why, didnt see any reason given.

Have you checked ebay? I'm assuming the high prices I saw were MSRP, hopefully dealers that want volume can sell for less.

Maybe they quit manufacturing in Mexico. That would make the price jump big time.

Last time I bought a GM Goodwrench replacement crate engine I shopped around to find the best price, and had Jegs price match it.

Bought a GM 350 L44 2 years ago. Best price then was Radley Chevrolet in Fredericksburg Va off ebay.
Salesperson said they bought those motors by the semi load, said they had an offsite whse full of motors. They had 20+ motors tagged for pickup when I got mine. Had a couple ZZ572's sitting there that I was hoping would accidentally get loaded in my truck.

IF GM Finally did stop making engines and most everything else out if the country it would be a good thing, more American Manufacturing Jobs, for American Citizens, higher quality products, and more in country competition will drive prices down across the board. NAFTA & every other stinking free trade agreement ever has done more harm then good to the applicable product and the American worker.

As did I. Even Radley now reflects the same much higher prices.

If the higher cost is a result of jobs coming back to the US, I will gladly pay. If its GM trying to make ends meet even at the crate engine level, I won't be quite so happy.

Regardless of why, this probably puts machine shops and do it yourself assembly back to the top of the best idea list.

At the 4k price they are now selling the L31 crate, the ZZ6 or LS, such as the LSX454, crate engines are the same (or quite near) $ to HP ratio.
