When did GM start using nylon bushings on the door strikers?

I am not sure but there was a guy around here claimed to have an all original 74. I went to look at it and it had nylon bushings on the striker pin. I dont know if it was all original the 20k that was on the odometer looked more like 220k. I dont think anything had ever been replaced. Of course he got real upset when he found out I had a 73. For some reason he thought 74 was the only full convertible. He said his 74 was worth about 50 grand. I said my 73 must be worth more then. At that point he went nuts started ranting and raving and I left as fast as possible. My 73 had the remnants of the typical nylon bushing but I have no clue if they were aftermarket

I am pretty sure the strikers on my Blazer are original and all they have is a worn down metal bushing...but there could have been a nylon bushing over the metal sleeve?

They had a plastic bushing over the metal sleeve. If your door shuts hard, like you have to slam it, put new strikers in and you will wish you did it along time ago. O'reillys has them in the help section.

Those are the ones I have used for everything from my 73 to my 89 and a whole lotta years in between. I actually have an extra set. Keep em around cause if someone needs em they are super fast to put on and when they dont have to slam their door anymore you get the "what is this voodoo magic you have" look
