Does anyone know of a way to find out specific details of when these things were made? I'm not sure if it's even possible to find the exact "birthday" of these trucks. I just found a receipt of when my truck was purchased for $525 from somewhere around 1991, it would be neat to wish my truck a happy birthday.

Things I have found is it was built in Janesville Wisconsin 1982 with the production number of 1467 and first registered 6/1982. Is it possible to obtain Arizona MVD records that go that far back? I tried their online service and paid $3 to find out I own it.

In the sequence number, it dates to which week of the year it was completed off the line in its plant

My SPID on the inner drivers side fender has the build date on it. I know sometimes they are long gone. Look at the top center. I need to peel this thing off and preserve it somehow.

Filled it out, hoping for the best! Pretty cool stuff...
Many moons ago I worked next to the department at Chevy that built the restoration packets. The guy that started it ended up being my boss at workhorse.

I'd go poking around that department at lunch time and read the old brochures and dealer order guides. I'm sure that stuff got absorbed into the heritage center when it was formed a while ago.

Post up what you get. I'm curious what it looks like.

Will do, I'm excited and asked for everything they could find.

I got this in a email today, from when it was purchased I was told it was from the local Air Force base.

I am sorry,

but we were not able to locate a copy of your vehicle invoice. We believe your vehicle was invoiced as a Government sale. During this time period, for vehicles invoiced this way, the invoices were not archived in our collection. We did find the following information:

Invoice #:1G000048361
Invoice Date:1982/6/2

Also here is the original receipt of when we purchased it in I think 1991.
