I'm looking online at ignition coils and I am presented with two options...I can figure the difference, does anybody know the difference in these two?

AC DELCO D573A and D504A

I have heard of the oil filled, but not the epoxy filled. Which one is better?

i'd like to know that too. although, I already ordered the oil filled one.

I never knew there was an epoxy version for an
HEI coil...

GM used a few variants in the 70's and 80's..

Those two you listed are both for Chevy V8's,they have the red & yellow wires..there was another version for Pontiac & Olds distributors that had different wire color codes ,I think red & white for those, they were different polarity,as the distributors turn the opposite direction than a Chevy one does--the pickup coils are different too,and they used to identify the components with a dot of paint on the ignition module, that matched the color of the wire on the coil
-- I think Chevys had a white dot--been awhile and my memory is fuzzy..
..
I remember GM recalling some mid 80's cars because they installed the wrong coils in some at the factory .my brothers '86 Monte Carlo SS was one of them..the engine still runs with the "wrong" polarity coil, but doesn't have the full output it should have..it did run noticeable better with the right coil installed..
