For the 5th time in its history GM changed the design of its logo for the electronic era. I noticed the new logo on some parts that I ordered. I didn't see anything wrong with prior version of the logo.

If GM is going to use this new concept then the all black logo maybe best.

GM should just have stayed with the old all cap GM logo IMHO.

I just laugh every time I see a large corporation change logos. If you think about the marketing team and all the graphic designers and numerous meetings with a dozen people pitching in to finalize on a few good renderings, then the rounds of approvals from varying levels of management and maybe some lawyers to make sure the new logos aren't infringing anything, then finally the CO's and XO's reviewing it for a thumbs up. All that costs tens of thousands of dollars if not already in the 6 figure range. Then it goes to the web side of things so a team of folks can update every stinking webpage they own. Then the manufacturing side will get a copy and have to start modeling new stamps/dies/decals/etc...

It probably cost GM a cool million to make this change.

I think the m is suppose to represent the prongs of a plug going into an outlet and the light blue to dark blue fade has something to do with the sky. :dunno:

Lots of companies going to that lame ass lowercase crap. I don’t get it either.

It looks way more sissy - to better align with the newer products.

Turn it sideways and the M becomes an E also.

That’s exactly it. Making it more modern and futuristic just like the vehicles they are making. Why the future has to look so damn weak I don’t know but that’s why they are changing it.

The first two varieties were best. The 3rd and 4th are ok, but they were obviously trying to gussy up something that was very distinctive and simple.

The latest one... I literally hate it. I can't really say why, it just looks childish and has no class.

wasn't that like 2 years ago?

Yep it was. Dealers got advanced warning of the stupid change. Though it takes months to a year or more for the logo change to go all the way down to parts packaging and clearing out old inventory with the old logos.
