I don't know how many of you know about this gauge offered by GM Sports Salvage. It is a new gauge made specifically for the square body light duty trucks that looks like the gauge found in the medium duty trucks. This allows you to keep your clock and have a tachometer (or any other small gauge you want in the lower left corner of your cluster). Their website wasn't too clear about the two different kinds they had, but thanks to Martin (@82355) here, they updated their website to indicate they offer this gauge in the early font style (1973-1979) and the later font style (1980-1991). The newer style is the only one pictured on their website still. I purchased the early font style for my build and thought I'd post a picture so everyone knows what it looks like. It looks very nice and matches the original gauges very well. My truck isn't at a point to test it, but I don't foresee any problems. You'll need to modify your cluster for this to fit by removing the warning light housing on the fuel gauge/tachometer side. It gets power by plugging in to the pins in the back of the cluster for the large fuel gauge then a wire goes out to the distributor/tachometer hook up.

**I'm not affiliated with GM Sports Salvage in any way, just a happy customer**

I have had their webpage saved on my phone for months.....

I hope that you are pleased with it for years to come!!!

Very cool. I wonder if they could make it with a 5k limit and work with a diesel. Would look a ton better the the automated strapped to the column.

I'm not sure if its worth having a tach on a 6.2 diesel, when it is limited to 3600 rpms by the injector pump govenor!..

these do exist for the diesel trucks, just not repop. ive still got to figure out how to use this thing.
Nice! Course the rarest item is the one I want/need, lol.

Don't see why theyou couldn't make that too. Be worth a phone call I'm thinking.

Call and see what they say. They were pretty helpful when I called. They might add the numbers on the face as they're ordered. I ordered mine on a Tuesday and got it a week and a half later, but the shipping label said it was only two day shipping.

I had a couple of those diesel tach clusters. Still look for them every time I go to a junkyard....

The diesel ones might operate off a tap on the altenator,I remember seeing some GM school busses with 8.2's that had a slightly different alternator with a "tach" tab on them...looked like any other 10-SI except for that..
