Recently bought a new GM crate motor L05 for my 91 K1500. GM has discontinued the distributor for the 91, part number 1103749. They still make 1103952 but say it is only for 1993-95 L05 engines. Anybody know the difference between a 88-92 TBI distributor vs a 93-95?

Or I could just run down to advance or orielly, would be even easier :D. Actually, I buy a lot from Rock Auto. They have a AC Delco reman for as much or more than the new GM one used to be that was discontinued. Summit actually sells the GM 1103952 I'm asking about.

This is my 3rd or 4th new crate motor and I do like to use new GM or AC Delco parts when at all possible. Many times they are not that much more than the cheap aftermarket crap.

Just curious as to what the difference is in these dizzys, if anybody knows. Never would have thought 93-95 would be any different than 88-92. Had 2 different GM sites that say this dizzy is not compatible with my 91? I think the 1103952 has the melonized gear for steel roller cams, not sure if the discontinued dizzy was melonized.
