great looking Jimmy. I'm about to use a '76 14BFF under my '91 suburban. Run into any issues with the 14BFF install?

RobH, Thanks for the offer to send it. I don't want it. No big deal.
GForce8, No problems at all. It was a very easy change and I'm very glad I did the switch!

Nice looking soft top, what brand (it looks new)?

39.5 15 15s helped me out alot....1st pic with 37s 2nd pic with 39.5s...you cant go wrong with bigger tires... the soft top looks good...
with the cut outs it gives lots of fender clearance.

RobH,
I've admired your rig for some time. I really wanted a pickup that I could convert to a flat bed. A friend is coming over tomorrow with some TSLs (He said they were 39.5 inches). I guess that's what your running? Nice. I think I may have to buy them.

NV,
The top is softtopper. I really like it. Nice quality. I paid nearly $800 for it!! I'm insane.

Very nice truck man, a set of big, fat tires with really set it off.

Dude your truck is coming along nicely! Go with some 39.5s or somethin. Maybe an irok. That would look great IMO

If those 39s are in decent shape buy em, you will like the look and how they work offroad.

Hubnut, looks good man!

I guess I missed this thread last spring. Heck, I didn't even catch it when you showed up on here from SteelSoldiers!

DK5, Yeah. I made the sliders myself. 2x4 3/16 stock. They are linked to the roll cage inside and the frame underneath (all bolted). I dropped the truck on it this past weekend...held up great.

AMJ, I try to keep under the radar. Thanks for the compliment. The truck is excellent on the trails.

Update on tires: put the 39.5 inch TSLs on it and immediately got death wobble at 45 mph. I put the 36s back on. Guess I need to get the pinion angle right.

Random thought but how well balanced are the 39.5's? I had horrible death wobble with the 36" HMMWV bias plies I had on Big Ugly originally and going to the 38" Michelin Radials just about made it vanish. Perhaps the tires are out of balance/out of round?

We tried rotating the positions of the tires--no change. They are "balanced" if that is really possible with TSLs. We were only able to cure the wobble by airing down to 20 psi. The pinion is a little off. You can tell because the knuckles angle up in front where the tied rods fit. I will order some shims from DIY. Weird that the 36s don't cause it though.

Nice looking Jimmy! I was wondering if you had to drop your fuel tank when you put the shackle flip on? Doesn't look like you did in the pics. was it very hard to work around the tank.

Thanks

Try some airsoft BB's in the TSL's if you want to see if you can make it any better.

I have the balancing bags and they work real good and are 12 bucks each..
