I know... I know.... working on a friend of mine's Jeep CJ5....... well we need shocks... the rear is 18.5 inches at ride height just sitting there... the front is 23.5 inches ride height just sitting there......

Pro Comp... 3000 series this is what I think is the best possible solution...
Part Extended Collapsed Travel Top Lower Body Number (Inches) (Inches) (Inches) Mounting Mounting Diameter
32250X 22.58 13.71 8.87 Loop Loop 2.36 32950X 29.83 17.32 12.51 Loop Loop 2.36
Rancho... I have no idea on part numbers.... probably 5000 series would work.... just need eye to eye.... :doah:

Help me out here guys..... Good place to get um?
Thanks

Go visit your local NAPA and consult the big book o' shocks they have. Bet NAPA has something cheaper and better on the shelves or at their warehouses than the generic crap ProComp and Rancho sell. BTW RS5000 = ES3000 with a different paint job and stickers. Same with Skyjacker, Trailmaster, and Superlift's generic hydraulic shocks.

For ProComp and Rancho try Summit Racing and maybe ebay. Superlift and a few other aftermarket suspension places sometimes have "scratch and dent" sales through ebay.

The best way i think is to find a shock that will put your ride height half way between the extended and collapsed dimension of the shock. For instance if a shock only has 10 inches of travel and it is say 25" collapsed and 35" extended that would work best for a ride height measurement of 30"

Doing the math from the part number specs you gave those shocks would be perfect. Some people like to have more extension the compression though so you can make a little change and find a different shock that would give slightly more extension and slightly less compression.
