So local j/y has 3 Dana 60 fronts, 2 GMs and 1 Ferd, all dually's. I've been out of the selling 60s game for a while, so curious what there going for now. I think I can get them for $250-ish each.

Also there is a NV4500 from a 94, 4wd version. If it were newer 96-up, I'd grab it for the eventual Cummins swap....

The GM's are a no brainer, you would have no problem tripling your money on them.

There are about a dozen versions of Ford D60's, so it depends on what that one is.

last 60 srw I had with 4.10 gears and core calipers I had on c-list for few weeks and took $550.00 for it .

the next one I have in line I think I will prob just part it out . as much as I hate to say it . :doah:

I'll see if I can get both of them. Just seems never have the money when something like this pops up.

Talked to a buddy who got a 4500 from same yard, $385 for everything. To me that is steep, for j/y pricing. I'm getting a 2wd from a 2000 for $250.

For the GM4500's, I usually see $200-500.

For the Dodge 29 spline diesel version, weight the trans and then look up the price of gold. Pretty much that, don't expect 3 digits.

$250 is a awesome deal. Around here there going for anywhere from $700-$1000 usually

K30 is right. You guys are generally in the same "market value" I am here in jersey. There really just isnt value in them anymore. I bought a SRW 1 ton set quite a few years ago when the economy was better even and it took me 2 weeks to sell a SRW GM 60 for $500. I bought the set for $450 and drove 2 hours to pick them up. When I decided not to use them I thought I would double my money. Not a chance.

In the north east theres just too many rust buckets that get decommissioned to drive parts prices up. I remember when I was in high school you couldnt touch a GM d60 front for less than $1000.

I remember 6-7 years ago I think I got $450 for a bare gm 60 housing :eek1:

now good luck .

ford 60 with king pins I think hold more money than gm here any ways .

Here its feast or fammine..either the salvage yards strip the 60's right out of the rotted out trucks and hoard them, and want top dollar for them,or when the scrap prices go high, they balk at selling them, they weigh so much they just assume put them in the crusher intact..

Lately if you see anything pre 1990 in a salvage yard here, you'd better jump on it--in a day or two it will be gone, either crushed,or cannibalized and "inventoried"...and they want good money for not so good parts due to them being harder to find now..sadly most of them get squashed and shredded without even being looked at to see if anything was worth keeping..

benefits of being tow guy . :D

I see lots of stuff in the intake yard for the local pick-n-pull .

as said most pre 90's and now even early 2000 stuff is marked scrap and wont even hit the pull yard.

will get drained / $$$ removed / feed the crusher.
