Was cruising the local junkyard and found a 73 K5

Top was in great condition and the windshield frame was also. Doors were excellent other than cancer on the outside bottom (inside looked brand new)

Only thing missing was the latches from the windshield to the top.

What would be a good deal if I wanted to pick up the top, doors and frame?

Anyway to save the doors? Or would it be more tine than it's worth trying to patch them?

not completely sure about the 73+ trucks, but on the 1st gen trucks the doors are pretty much identical to the trucks with just the window frame cut down. there might be some molding pieces on the tops of the doors you'd want, but if you have good doors already, its probably easier to just cut the frames off of the doors you have.

Kinda what I was thinking. Mine are ok but could use some work. I need to strip and repaint the truck anyway so might just pick up some new doors.

Any idea what a good price would be to pick the stuff up

seen pics of modifyed truck or half top doors. and there is no aftermarket for the full vert doors if i recall.

and chop down low on the doner winshield frame to have all you need for weld in later.

and door repair thay make lower skin repair panels if you wana repair them.

I say $200-300 most. Since its at a yard they will probably want more though. Here in the nanny state CA they dont allow major cutting in the yards. Colorado is a lot better im sure.

I cut off a 1975 windshield frame from a junk yard here in Colorado, I thought I paid 75.00 for the frame and they let me have all the top of door hardware for free.

Don't forget about all the weather stripping you need. If I recall correctly there are an inner and outer windshield/top, one for each bedrail, one for each door window to top, you'll probably need new rubber upper door caps, and the lower door caps (new ones are plastic and originals were fiberglass). I don't know of anyone who makes the triangular brackets that connect the windshield frame to the top, but you can make those easily enough.

You can cut down the full frame doors off a pickup, suburban, or blazer. They all fit the same. The window regulators and door panels are different though, so don't get rid of them. The full convertible window regulators support the window from the bottom and keep it stable with or without the top on. the full frame doors rely on the window frame to support the window. If you cut the frame off, the window will flop around
