Looking at a new to me tow/light play rig and I'm going to look at this one today.

http://orangecounty.craigslist.org/cto/3169847748.html

Is there any special questions I should be asking as I know NOTHING about diesel rigs

Does the gearing need to be changed due to tire size like a gasser or does the allision make up for that?

All help will be appreciated

From what I've read up to 37s with a chip no need to gear it.

They are pretty solid.

When you drive it. back up, then go forwArd like normal to hear for any POP sound from.rear diff. Other than that not much experience with that body style on part failures.

There is a guy here who rebuilds rear ends and seen some carrier failures from guys overloading the piss out of that AAM rear end

dodge has more room inside on crew cab . buddy had a 2011 dmax and traded it for dodge got a LOT more room inside . and better fuel mileage to boot.

also looks like 4 tires soon on it by the pic's plan on 2k for 4 tires.

see if its raised knuckle lift in the front. those are MUCH better than the older lifts that droped the upper a-arm down .

and plan on tie rod ends and steering parts . thay do tend to eat them a big. but these guys got parts to fix that . http://www.cognitomotorsports.com/

I`d check over the front end real good...get a buddy to move the steering wheel and get under so you can check the idler arm, trod ends,pitman...front wheel bearings if possible.

The truck looks great lifted like that but the front end will wear parts out Fairley quickly stock let alone with 37`s.

You will love the 6 speed ally trans but they are not bullet proof either.
Serious upgrades can be made to it if you are wanting to drive it hard but look at spending up to 4000.00 if you want to go crazy.

As said Cognito make nice parts.

Good luck! I hope it`s nice...sure looks good. :thumb:
