Going to x-over and hydro ass. got a question about P/S pump.

I talked to matt at WTO (pretty cool guy) and i forgot to ask him if i should use my existing P/S pump or if i should change to the 2wd pump, out of the truck that i took the steering box from. Is this nessacary or not? i dont know if there is a difference, Thanks.

you can do his mod on the stock pump or run a AGR.

I'm running a AGR, but only because mine was shot and i got it at a great price.

im sending him my pump aswell so he can do some stuff to it to get more power out of it... did you have him do this to your agr pump? or is there already enough power in the agr so you dont need to?

There is no difference in the pump between a 2WD or a 4WD as far as ram assist goes. However, there are differences in the types of fittings used between the pump and box on certain year models. I don't know where the break occurs, though. Talk to Matt at WTOR and he will know. I got a 2WD box from the same year vehicle as my rig and everything bolted up easy as pie.

The break is at 80 as far as i know and even then that year had had both styles. the best bet would be to get matching pump and box.

well damn, that sucks, i know that the truck the box came off is a 70's and my truck is 84.... i think i might have a 77 box, Does matt have a CK5 name on here? im just gonna send him both pumps, and ask him to use which ever will work best i guess. thx for the replies.
