Going topless - seat and interior protection?

Going topless this year. Have a thread about that here as well but only had one response on my seat question.

So for all of you guys running no top or even a soft topper or a cover...what do you do to keep the moisture/water/mud/**** off of your rear seat and other interior components? Even with the half cabs the fronts would be more likely to get wet.
My rear seat's in decent shape and the foam isn't broken down so I'd hate to ruin it.
 
My rear seat is far from perfect, it just sat there all last summer. Sometimes I would fold it down when rain was coming, others it just sat there like usual and would dry out by the next time it was used. This year it's in the garage. I wanted to get a new cover for it that was not fabric, maybe vinyl instead, but have not done anything about it yet. One good idea I had was to make some sort of cover for it, similar to a bbq grill cover. But my particular seat isn't worth the effort. Plus I installed 3 across seating in the front so the back seat hardly ever gets used anyways. We usually ride with me and the wife on the ends and our daughter in the middle.

The front seats just get slid forward when rain is coming. I slide mine back when driving in the rain and as long as I'm traveling forward I stay dry.

I can't speak for the rest of the interior because, well, there is none.
 
I normally have either the full soft top or the Sarari top on. If I take them off or I don't expect anyone in the rear seat I tarp the rear seat and use bunji cords to hold it on.

Rest of the interior is speedlined or paint so I don't worry about that.
 
Yeah, I should mention that my interior is Rhino Lined. Not worried about that. Mainly just keeping everything as dry as possible.

There was a guy making military grade canvas seat covers for CUCV's a while back...think he made them for the M1009 Blazers...but he stopped after a short while. That'd be ideal.

Part of my issue is I'd like whatever I get to be dog proof. 77lb Golden Retriever and a hyper active 27lb mutt ride around back there and will LOVE the top being off.
That alone makes something like neoprene less than optimal.

Tarp and bungees might just work ad hoc.
 
NorCal_Chris took an old hard top, and cut it so just the top is left.
Kinda like one giant T-top.

It's perdy awesome!
 
Going to look into it and shake the piggy bank. I know the guy from when I had my M1008 and frequented SteelSoldiers. He's a good guy and has a good reputation. I'll let you guys know.

That ought to be Golden Retriever AND water proof if it's truly milspec.
 
I'll keep that in mind. If we start working 50's I should have some extra cash soon.
 
There has to be a way to design a bikini top that uses only the first few inches of a hardtop....so that it can still be bolted on using the existing bolts so you don't have to drill into the window frame...it could be a bikini top or soft top....but why wouldn't that work? :dunno:
