Golden Spike

Saturday Sept 8th

Golden Spike

o #1 Departs: 8:00AM *Drivers Meeting: 7:45 AM (mandatory)

o #2 Departs: 9:00AM *Drivers Meeting: 8:45 AM (mandatory)

o Meeting Place: Highway 191 pullout north of Colorado River

o Be prepared for a 12hr day on the trail; it has taken longer in the past so beware. Golden Spike is a trail that links Poison Spider Mesa with Gold Bar Rim so you will be running 3 trails. Golden Spike is full of challenging obstacles that will put your vehicle to the test all day long. There are strict requirements for running this trail. This trail is straight through and you will end quite far from where you start. You will need to plan for some pavement travel with your trail vehicle.

I am fine with group one.
We'll get together in the evening with everyone.
I have been wanting to meet the guys in group one and I already know most of group 2.

Well let’s see

I’ve run it in 5 hours which included tipping a YJ back off its can

And then there was the infamous lost Rat patrol and oil filter debacle in which the sundial and hourglass were both used to time the trail

Anybody in the first run have a open seat? Really trying to make this run. I have to leave Sunday morning to head back home so would rather not make it a really long day but if it happens it happens.

Got and open seat, but it’s the back seat. You’re welcome to ride along.
