good 52 spring swap idea???

the longer shackle helps out with the increased travel of the springs. definatley a neat product, never seen that before. i could use it in a couple things too.

yea ok the longer shackle helps with travel but what if you kept that long shackle and put this thats like iduno 5'' lower = 5" of lift??

for 5 inches of lift by just changing the upper shackle hanger like that you would need to drop it 10 inches. youre only moving one eye of the spring so it really puts the hurtin on your pinion angle and just looks goofy.

probably the pinion angle change is the biggest reason to use the "in frame" hanger.

so if you lowered the front eye as muche as the rear then what??

then you look hillbilly as hell.

if you drop the front and rear spring eyes you basically get 5 inches of "lift" without changing the spring. its kinda ghetto though.

no no i wanna put the 52 springs in.weld that piece to botom of frame below where the new hole "would" be for the swap. then i could just drop the front eye as much as i did the rear.. i would still get the same flex

o and hillbilly is who started offroadin!!

save us all from "this"

thats sweet!!! no but seriously... so them things are pointless for that swap

If you weld on the shackle hangers like that under the frame, be prepared to break your frame. The Chevy frame is just not strong enough and the flexing will eventually lead to a shackle hanger falling off. This can be prevented by bracing the area.

Trust me I know about this. I did this my own version years ago. Will not do it again
