I don't want to spend much, but its time for a new head unit in my DD.

Has to be single din, It would be nice if it can play MP3s but not necessary. As long as it picks up the local FM radio station I'm happy.

A little while ago there was a Sony cd deck for $70.00 CAD at the local futureshop... I should have bought it but wasn't really looking for one then (christmas shopping). Now you find the same ones for over $100 and they won't move on the price..

So I'm asking you guys what is a good deck for cheap (including shipping if online) and where can I get one?

Plenty under 100 . I like that Sony too . I use the more expensive ones , but never had a problem with Sony .

Its hard for small places to budge on price because they dont make jack on them. If you dont want to support a local business, go on amazon or crutch field.

x2 for Wally World (WalMart) They usually have ~10 decks in stock and usually 2-3 are below $100. MP3 disk playing capability is almost universal now and most will have the AUX input in the front. As said, good for iPod or Sirius radio.

i got my new in box kenwood for 80 bucks off craigslist, has all the cool featuers.Id check there first. mp335. Real nice headunit but no front aux.

ALso, got my kenwood 135. basic but around 100 bucks. I like the sonys too, never owned one but ive had friends with good success with one. Front aux.

Both of these are outdated but good units imho.

Dont cheap out and get a dual, buddy has one in his foxbody, one of the alpine high dollar imitations, its cheap but not reliable. Kenwood, alpine, sony, pioneer. I have a jvc deck in the 86 right now i just dont like how they visually look, but it came with the truck so i cant complain.

well guys I broke down and bought a cheapie at the local Canadian Tire.

Its a Nextar and it cost me $36!! CD/MP3 aux plug in, am/fm. Good enough for me.

Was the last one in stock!

Thanks for the suggestions though guys, I was going to get that Sony at Walmart but it was $109 here! I would buy it anyway but I'm not sure I'm going to keep the vehicle for longer than a year.. so this will do.

EDIT: Sorry it only cost me $30.00, thought it was 36 :D

CD player is in and its great. I found out I only have one working speaker though :doah: on the driver's side..

Anyone know of good/cheap speakers?? I took the dash apart up front and there isn't even any wires anywhere on the pass side.

I have to take apart the back panels to see if there is even any speakers back there

Go with lower wattage ratings, you'll get more efficient speakers.

You need 3.5" speakers for teh dash.
