Good deal ?

I dunno about price but thats a nice freakin rig. That 205 shifter looks really long.

what's a 'rare automatic trans'? It's still a sharp looking rig and that wouldn't be a holding point on buying it, just curious. I'd pay $5k for it. I'd try talking him down of course, but I wouldn't walk away if he didn't go lower.

See if you can test drive it, and check out those rust spots he mentioned. I'd also take a look at the rear end and see if it's a 14bff. Looks pretty good to me though.

So the 14bff was in production in 72? i wasnt sure about it, was fuguring it would be a 12bolt. Think i'll call him this week and see if i can go check it out.

my only prob with it is that i wish it was a stick

He thinks that there were more manual transmission trucks made in '72 and that the auto (TH350) was a rare option. Its not, there are way more autos than manuals.

The rear end will likely be an Eaton HO72.

'73 was the first year for 14 bolts.

Good looking rig, bring a magnet with you to check for body filler repairs.

From personal experience the Eaton's are weak, but luckily, 14 bff are cheap. Good idea on the magnet btw.

Just checking but what 14b would bolt in to the pre 73 trucks ?

think i heard 1 tons bolt in on the pre 73's ?
