For Sale: I have a 14 bolt full float rear axle and a corporate 10 bolt front axle from a 1980 chevy 3/4 ton truck. Matched pair 3.73 gears. The rear axle is already painted just needs the axles and hubs put back in but should have new drums put on, they are in pretty rough shape from sitting, brake shoes and spring kits are new. The front axle is complete and untouched, has lockouts on it, both came from a running truck and you can look at the ring gear on the rear axle and see everything is perfect. Asking 225.00 o.b.o. just dont need them now and they're taking up room.

Anything I should grab?

I'd hunt around a bit more. Axles and such can be had for cheap if your willing to wait a bit.

if your thinking of bigger tires and stuff later down the rad, i would wait and find a set of 4.10's .

for that price, it's still not a bad deal, drums are not cheap though.

I am thinking of bigger later, though not much more so.

Thanks for the idea. I've been patient about doors and two just fell into my lap...so OK. Thank you.

If the guy is nearby, go take a look inside both differentials. If it is a bit of a drive for you, don't go until you've received photos of both differentials. I learned this the hard way. Most sellers haven't even opened the cover themself, they just "know" that the gears are good.

That said, usually if your tires are small enough for 3.73 gears you don't really need 3/4-tons. But if you plan to tow and run 31's, I guess it makes sense.
