Good example of rockwells and low lift and smaller tires

Sweet truck. I find it funny that being the huge low lift not huge tires person that I am I think I'd still have atleast 40's on rocks :D

Exactly. I just don't see the point. There's guys runnin 1 tons with 47s. Just overkill and good insurance LOL

Well the gearing is overkill. I can see the point of running rockwells vs some blinged out 1 tons. Number one being the fact that they give you as much ground clearance as a d44 with mohawk covers.

Heres how I've always perceived axle capabilities under our rigs.
stock 10b/d44 31's-35's
beefed 10b/d44 36's-37's
stock d60 38's-39's
beefed d60 40's-44's
rocks 44's-47's
beefed rocks 48's and up.

That being said theres alot of guys that run much bigger tires on 1ton gear.

I think it may be worth it for me since I haven't regeared or anything yet, I won't be driving on the street anyways, unless I get a job lol.

If I narrow them I should be able to keep my tie rod, hopefully, the only thing is I need a 10" hydro cylinder not an 8". I just need to measure my shop neighbors set to see how much taller they are than a 60.

And a big block is also in my future.

The only thing is the decreased turning radius

Thanks. Now I think I need rockwells too:doah:

Fock the rockwells.... I need a turboed 6.0 now.

Never hurts to have too much beef and since you can get a set of rockwells for the same price as 1 tons I don't see why not... unless it's a dd.

What is the highest gear you can get for rockwells?

They only have one gear and it's 6.72

Theres a couple different model of Rockwells. I beleive the 2.5 toploaders are strictly 6.72.

I thought they had one after market set lower in the 7's?

I think ouverson is going to make some soon, not sure what ratios, they are going to be probably 1200 dollars an axle though.

That rig in the original post is one of the rigs I voted for to get into this year's TTC. From the looks of the fender trimming job it has enough clearance for 44s at the very least.

I bet he would have gotten mickeys for free though, He is already running their mtz's. It has some pretty serious parts but it just doesn't look pretty.

If I can find rocks for 1000 a set again I will be getting a set.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure he would have gotten a set of the Baja Claws for free. That narrowed Dodge Powerwagon that was in this year's TTC was running a set of either 42" or 44" Pitbull Rockers before the event and now it has the 46" Baja Claws. They're grooved up too.
