Ive owned many 4x4s but never a K5, so any info would be awesome. So here is what the guy emailed me. 89 BLAZER ... 39.5 TSL SUPER SWAMPERS RUNS GOOD, DOES NEED SOME WORK. CURRENTLY MY DAILY DRIVER, 350 MOTOR DANA 44 FRONT, SUPERIOR AXLES, 14 CORPORATE REAR, 456 GEARS IN BOTH, ENTIRE FRONT DRIVE REBUILT, ROUGH COUNTRY 8" LIFT LEAF SPRINGS, BULLDOG 4 SPEED TRANSMISSION WITH GRANNY LOW, TRANSFER CASE MILITARY EDITION WITH DOUBLE STICK.....Ive already seen the truck in person the rust is at a minor. Oh the work that needs to be done is with the tranny the bell housing has a small crack in it by the starter. Third gear pops out at random.

Whats he askin for it?

Thr front axle is going to explode if you take it off road with those tires.

Its a sm465 with an np205. Great combo. It shifts slow and gritty.

It probably rides like a rank with that lift

I would lower it, get either a dana 60 front or smaller tires and crossover steering and be set

It would be a good start, depending on price

Here you go... I'll sell you this one. Much nicer version of the one your looking at. I'm also about 5 hours away from you.

He's asking 35 but wants to trade me for my standard cab short box z71 wth 200 thousand miles on it plus it was a michigan truck till I got stationed in florida. I would ask more about the dana 60 but I can just research the information myself.

Everyones gotta start somewhere. It doesn't look like too bad of a start

I like buying trucks with bigger tires on them already, cause big tires are expensive.

get a dana 60 front

Why do people insist on saying this IN EVERY THREAD ANYONE MAKES. If you hammer down then yes, the 44 doesent stand a chance, but if you know the limits of your PERSONAL rig, then it should be okay. Im not 100% positive that everyone on this board needs a dana 60, but i know 99.9% would have them immediately if they werent hard to find and cost $500 to $1000 dollars.

OP, this truck seems legit, but as someone has already stated, these old trucks usually have some hidden gremlins that show up a little while after you buy them.

Because people think that a "3/4 ton d44" is a strong axle when it isnt. Especially with those size tires. Its better to be warned than to go out and break something your first 30 seconds of an offroad trip. Since he is a firsttime k5 owner, and has no clue to the limits of his personal rig, then this information is KEY.
