Good Flex

What does everyone recommend for really good flex?

Shocks\Springs etc..

shocks: as long as you can afford...

springs: as soft/long as you can fit.

Thats pretty much the nuts & bolts of it

Stock 52" springs up front and stock 56"s out back seem to be a popular combo because it's easier to accomplish. Some have gone with 56's up front and even 63's out back for added flex, but I can tell you that 52/56 is damn flexible enough for anything I'm going to be doing.

Bear in mind that springs & shocks arent the only things you need to address. You need drivelines capable of handling the flex without binding up, you most certainly need crossover steering, and longer brake lines. Also, you will need fender "modification" and possibly modifed bump stops and limiting straps.

what brand shocks should i look at for the best possible performance im seeing that that would be the most expensive part for my suspension build.

I dont want the typical rancho or pro comp brand

You shouldn't need fancy schmancy shocks like you see on the Mall cruiser rigs, just ones with enough travel to accomodate your suspension.

I could probably use some longer-travel ones, but they're acting as my limiting straps now.. haha. They're $40 ProComp ES3000's.

More importantly than brand, is you have to relocate the upper shock mount for shocks that big. The common consensus around here is either Ford shock towers or custom-fabbed brackets.

I went with Ford super-duty shock towers:

Mike knows what he's talking about. He's got the flexiest chevy that I have ever seen.

Well i could do without the furd towers but relocating doesnt seem to be that bad of an idea and not hard for me do. I have some thick steel ill see what happens when i get all my chit straitened out

you are going to need the towers or custom mounts for shocks. the flex is to great for stock frame location of shock.
