Thought Id be smart and buy a rotor pad combo from EBC for the 08 2500 DD. Hell it was cheaper than getting rotors from the parts store anyway.

Dismantle front left brakes, install rotor, something doesnt "seem" right, go to install EBC pads, they send me 8 lug rotors and 1500 pads... Great. Install new rotor anyway and install old pads that were still fine. Drive ten feet, grind grind grind, WTF.

Take it back apart and see the pads are rubbing on the rotor hat, like really bad. Take apart and find the hat depth is 3/8 deeper than the stock rotor. Put original brakes back on truck... Wasted 2 hours.

Prepare to be screamed at EBC, prepare....

Rant over

been looking at them lately...let us know what and how this happened....please!

Well as always summit comes through. The tech was skeptical thinking I ordered the wrong thing at first but after a brief verification of part numbers and truck model and explanation of measurement difference between stock and aftermarket rotors he was quick to issue me a full refund including return shipping. He also took lots of notes because he said hes gonna more or less need ammo to ream out EBC as to why this is their fault.

Also he was dumbfounded as to how those idiots could send me 8 lug rotors and 1500 pads...

You handle it right with them and had your info ready to go! Great job and glad you got a refund. So what are you going to do now for brakes stock or go another route?

I like Summit because they also do paypal (allows me to use my paypal credit instead of blowing out my bank accounts, lol)

Im gonna have my stock rotors cut and hopefully get the correct EBC pads. Its a shame because the EBC rotors had the really nice anti rust coating on them and better venting...

What is dying in my neck of the woods is people help people with out $ involved. Growing up you could swap work but now days it is about $$$$

Well I appreciate that. Its a dying thing really. Im gonna have to find an old school parts store that offers it...

If you're doing all this in Point, Mike and Doms by stop & shop did offer cutting rotors. Least they used to.

I put new EBC Greenstuff brakes on my 2005 Burb last week, I ended up using NAPA premium rotors even though mine would have probably cleaned up OK. I don't have faith in the locals machining ability after they ruined some high dollar custom rotors a while back. I do love the EBC brake products

O'Reillys is the only shop here that turns rotors...

sad.
