Good price for a 5.7 Vortec?

Thought I would ask this here as I believe 96-99 Burbs have this engine. Found one with 100k for $750 complete and running. Whataya think?
This engine is actually out a 2000 Escalade. Same L31 though.

why ?

if transplant just drop ls in much better design in the end. reg old style sbc are basicly a thing of the past now if your going to swap or reman.

This enginge is going to go into my 2000 BlazR2. Replacing my bad 4.3. It is the easiest swap.

but most everyone i see anymore doin swaps has gone ls motors. few bucks more tons more poswer and much better fuel mileage.

and for 750 better here it run your self on a cold start and if you can test drive it. i dont trust used motors these days. to many dam scam artists.

If complete means all accessories, computer +all wiring. It’s not too bad of a price.

Can you hear it run before you buy it?

A running long block in good condition run around 400-500 dollars. 250 more for all the wiring, computer and accessories

A SBC of that vintage if treated well will go well over 200000 miles easy.

Thanks guys. Well I picked it up today for $650, that was complete with all the goodies. Could not hear it run though, but I feel warm and fuzzy about it after hearing the story. Could just be blind faith, we'll see. I also scorred the nice leather Escalade seats for my K5.

so is this going in a stock s10 blazer? 2wd or 4wd? Or did you write ZR2 on there for a reason

Sweet dude.

I would roll it over and check out the bottem end, see if you see any hot spot on the rod ends or crank. Pan gaskets are cheap.

Sounds like a fun project. My dad wants me to build him a v8 S10 extra-cab 2wd. He doesn't care about smog(lives in Nv) but i will get it back some day so it will need to pass smog. I'm looking at doing the same swap someday.
