Is $1200 a good deal on an ATS turbo setup?

How does ATS compare to Banks?

I have a line on one.

I bought a complete ATS turbo set-up for $300 cdn a year or so ago. The turbo does need to be rebuilt...but everything else is there and in good shape.

I've heard they're a pretty decent set-up.

this is with a newly rebuilt turbo and ceramic coated manifolds. It supposedly has all the parts that came with the kit.

I think the ATS stuff was offered through the 80's...and hasn't been for quite a while. The numbers on my turbo don't even cross reference that I've been able to find.

Mikey: with a fresh turbo and ceramic coated manifolds, and all the parts needed that sounds like a decent deal. I've been told the turbo rebuild will cost roughly $600-$700 which would put my set-up in the same ballpark as the one you're looking at.

I went ahead and offered up $1000. We will see what happens.

If it's rebuilt never ran I would say it's a good deal.
I have one on my 85 sub and I might be selling it someone here asked me about it and I am asking $800 for a complete running system.
ATS was available in the 80's I don't know which years exactly but I have seen a few mostly on mid 80's trucks.

I know for a fact there was ATS turbo kits for 6.2 in the early 90's. When I was in highschool automotive program a kid did an ATS turbo kit on his truck. The next year he did one on his dads truck. This would have been 94-95 and 95-96 school years.

imiceman, I am definitely interested if you are selling it. I am local too, well 3.5 hours north but my wife has all her family in Sac. We travel there almost once a month.

Why are you selling it btw? Do you not like it or going with something else?

Need the money and still can't find a job :o

ATS might have been available back then..... But not ATS diesel performance... It was made by Advanced Turbo Systems out of Utah.... Same as for the Ford 6.9 and early IDI 7.3....ATS Diesel here in colorado has since then bought them out....
