Has anyone bought rubber mats for the K5 floor. Not the small mats but the mat for the entire floor. My stock one is ripped rather badly.

I got the "MIP" black one from LMC for my M1009 CUCV. It was oversized, cut to fit, and the dimples in the floor didn't quite match my truck. Whether it was weird 'cuz it was military vs civvy I don't know.

OTOH, on a halfway warm summer day it was easy enough to lay out and trim to size, and the major humps seemed to be molded right. Once I got it in, it looked just fine and certainly stood up to abuse, i.e. mud, soda, various petrochemicals.

I like the MIP idea, but went a cheaper, more getto route. I bought a truck bed rubber mat, cut it up and threw it down. Until funds come in for LineX or Hurculiner, I'll leave it be. I also bought a mat normally used for building entrances. It's very flexible, strong, and gives you an actual "mat" feel. This will be laid down over the LineX and the bed mat will be removed. I needed something for now to keep noise and heat away. Works great. Here's some pics.

I would bet you could also get mats for the 1992-1995 Blazer/Tahoe/etc which are going to fit, probably online or from a local parts store.

The guys that have the multi-page advert in Car&Driver, etc, about "Buying foreign to save a lousy .50c on a tape measure."

I have their "custom digital" floor and trunk mats in my Altima, and love them. The trunk one is total non-slip and they all have a nice deep lip to them. The less expensive generic-fit mats were crap, however.

I didn't know they did anything for our trucks, however -- thought they focused on newer vehicles.

I did the LMC floor mats and they fit OK. Let them lay out on a driveway for a few hours in the hot sun, then install them. You need a good heat gun also. Don't get to wild with the trim knife till you are happy the way it fits. I also used the plastic molding that holds the carpet in the back seat to hold the rubber mat to the bed pan. Then trimmed along the top of the molding.

I had the LMC full rubber floor. I was not happy with it at all, one lil miss alignment or bad trim and it makes it look like sh!t. I yanked it and ended up LIne Xing the interior and Im more than happy with that decision.

I hate to reanimate dead threads, but I figured this would be easier than starting a new thread.

This question is specifically for dremu and Mkuhn138, or anyone else who's used the WeatherTech floor mats.

dremu, did you get the floor mats for the blazer? If so, how's the fit?

Mkuhn138, the "generic-fit" floor mats from WeatherTech are supposed to be custom-fit. What didn't you like about them?

Thanks.

Weathertech makes two types of floor mats, the floor liner and the all weather floor mat. You can see how shallow the liner looks in the pics. I've never seen them in person so I can't comment on them. They do look more "light duty" than the floor mats. Probably plenty for the suburbanite's car, though.

I've had some of the all weather floor mats in my Dodge for 6 years and love them. They are a very heavy rubber mat w/ deep grooves to hold plenty of dirt and water. They have a hole to grab the hook in the carpet to keep it from creeping up under the pedals, but I don't think it would matter. They are heavy w/ dimples on the back to grab the carpet and are perfectly shaped to fit the floor. I doubt they'd move even w/out the hook. They still look like new even after 6 years and 70k miles. There's no noticeable wear under the right heel where all the ones I've had in the blazer always wore out.

They are not cheap at $90 for a set. But, I would have spent at least $45 on two cheap plasticy sets for the same time span and none of the cheap ones catch as much dirt/water. I can easily see these mats lasting the life of the truck.

Plus, they're American made. That counts a lot in my book.

They are showing a floor mat for the -'87 trucks.

I was looking at the all-weather ones. They're available for my '84. They also make an All-Vehicle mat, which seems pretty generic to me. Perhaps that's what Mkuhn138 was referring to?

They also make a DigitalFit FloorLiner, but it isn't available for my '84. That one is supposedly laser-scanned for a perfect fit, which makes me wonder how good of a fit I'll get with the all-weather ones. It also doesn't help that when I do the vehicle selector it asks if it's 2 doors or 4. Makes me wonder just how well the all-weather mats would actually fit the blazer.

Have you used the all-weather ones in an older truck? Not sure how old your Dodge is, but I'm just concerned about how good a fit they make those mats for 30 year old trucks.

Thanks for the info man.

I have the floor mats in an '05 Dodge 2500. I just have the two front floor mats since the back floor is always covered by the cargo deck for the dog.

If I'm not mistaken, both the floor mat and the digital floor liner are both digitally scanned to fit. I know my floor mats fit the shape of my floor. I would be surprised if the floor mat for the square body trucks was not made to fit as well.

What I saw from the Weathertech website is that they only have the generic-fit for our trucks, not the digitally-measured fancy ones. Which is too bad as I loooove me that kind. I've had had them and their trunk liners in my daily drivers for years now.

Can't speak as to the generic-fit though as I've not bought any. For my Blazer I just went with the whole rubber floor from LMC/ACC. Note that they DO have colors available, you just order them from LMCautocarpet.com and not LMC.com. I got mine in blue but they had tan and grey and whatnot.

Like carpet, you gotta measure four times and cut once, but the end result is really quite nice.

Good catch on that one. I went back to the page for those, and it did say that some are model-specific while others are trim-to-fit. So, I sent them an email to verify which ones they were. I'll let you guys know what they say.
