Goodbye 1/2ton & 35\'s... Hello D60/14FF & 38\'s!
I gotta post some pictures.... I now have 40 miles on my 1 ton running gear. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Spent the weekend taking out my open D44/ locked 12 bolt & 35's.... and swapping in my 1 ton axles & 38's. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Picked up the bare axle housings and parts about a year ago and now EVERYTHING is brand new in the two axles and rebuilt by myself. Started off by shaving both axles for maximum ground clearance. Most parts were beadblasted then painted..
The D60 has an ARB, 4:56's, 35 spline outer kit, 1350 yoke, ORD crossover steering, Rockstomper Rockrod, WTO hydro assist, TonyP's 4 degree D60 ubolt plates, and willyswanter's custom fab'd BEEFY 1/2" plate diff cover.
The 14ff rear is detroit locked, disk braked, 4:56 gears, 1410 yoke... Jethrobuilt BEEFY rear diff cover is supposed to be here tommorow. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif Also installed all new extended steel braided brakelines.
Went with some 16x10 alloy rims for the bling cause i liked my last ones... Grooved my own 38x13x16 TSL swampers... thanks zakk for letting me borrow the groover. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif
Figured i'd drive around for a few days, see if theres anything weird like deathwobble, and then put on the hydro ram on.. Already have the tabs welded on the IOR diff cover and my 1.5" rockrod clamp.
...More testing and pictures to come...
Its going to be totally different with 38's, a front ARB locker, hydro assist.... etc...
Now i just need to take the sawzall to the fenders... and then some skidplates, rocksliders, tuned port fuel injection... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/k5.gif /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif
