hey just ordered my lift kit from 4wheelparts, got it all $711 ! not to bad i thought, new frt springs dual shocks on each corner up frnt. new brake lines, steering stblzr. now it comes with blocks in the back. i know they are not that great. i'm on a tight budget, thats why i went with em'. should i save up for new springs in rear? or go with shakle flip? if so, whats ya'll experience ...offroad design...or diy4x?
how would i go about getting it to sit level. hate the jacked up look, either front or rear?

(ain't these blazer we drive killer man!! i love mine.):D

thnx ya'll

I just used the off road des. shackle flip in the rear and did an add a leaf for 400.00. Still have a good ride.

In my experience rear lift springs in the 6in variety ride like crap, stiff as a brick, and no flex.. I would entertain the 4 inch shackle flip(DIY4X or offroad design) a zero rate add-a-leaf, and a slightly longer shackle. Dont go overboard on the shackle length, as it induces the rollover feeling, lots of sway. I shackle flipped mine with 63's and used a belltech "lowering" shackle for a 2wd, its about 9 inches long, the truck doesnt handle worth a crap. I will soon be doing the zero rate in an attempt to correct . The level issue you will likely just have to measure after the shackle flip to determine what other method will be necessary to level the truck. Likely 3 inches of additional lift to correct the sag.

thnx ya'll for the input. my idea is this....flip that shakle and use a 1 or 2 in block. still kind of cool, i know that block is a weak point, but since keeping it so small, shouldn't be too too ugly. i guess really, the way i should go, get the parts for the flip, save a little money and get a 2 in. spring. man, i'm just so stoked to get my "baby" some altitude. been trying to do it for 3 yrs. between kids and wife. damn. its cool, you always enjoy what you have to work hard for a little more.
dig it. keep the tips coming in. i'll admit it, i'm a rookie. :doah:
adding some pics soon. used a framing stud holder 0.79cents lowes for my antenna mount:laugh:.. that 102" badboy works like a champ....that's built not bought if i ever seen it! check my photo albums on facebook...same thing...knottyrich laters

Knotty, I'm not new to 4x4ing, at 43 now I have the money to build something. I needed a tow rig. The boat drove the K5 with it's short wheel base. 85 burb, 14bff, D60, ORD flip and 4" rough country. She has a saggy bottom. Enter spring shop, jack up left rear with jack until 1/2 high in rear. Did a add a leaf new main and re arc to 4" lift. Sittin pretty. Lockers next! Then Cummins 12V!! It never ends but what a ride! Have fun!!
