Got a fireball out the carb...

So now I have my POS ready to start and I got the old fireball out the carb routine. Does this usually mean the distributor is 180* out, too far advanced or retarded?

That or your plug wires are in reverse or wrong order.

The rotor should be pointed at about 7:00 at TDC of compression stroke if you are looking at the distributor from your fender. The firing order is 18436572.
