Hey guys, on my 86 M1009 I have a leak.

I have had to replace the retainer clips for the filter (dealership broke changing the filter).

Put it back together, no leaks. Ran the truck around about 50 miles, now I have a leak, but its not from the filter, looks to be from the backside.

So my question is: What are the common issues with these. This is the cartridge style water/fuel seperator on the ps side firewall.

(I had planned to change it out for a spin on style from napa, but with the 3 electrical connections, I changed my mind.)

It is a common issue. There are some o-rings that seal the filter to the filter base. Sounds like whoever changed the filter damaged or lost one.

I just checked the seating of the filter.. all o-rings are there and in good condition.

I just ran the truck again, it dripps about once ever 15 seconds, and appears from the rear and center.

I guess I will have to unmount the whole thing and take a closer look.

Well I think I fixed this...
