My neighbor is selling his house and got down to the final stuff left in the garage. I got a good deal on a compound mitre saw and a 1987 Sears Craftsman tool chest. I am happy to get it. Now I can maybe have room to really sort my tools a little better.

I do need a key for it though, he couldn't find it. I wonder if they are easy to get?

If the lock is like the ones on a truck bed tool box,I bought a pair of cabinet locks to replace the one on an aluminum tool box I got with no keys ,at either Lowe's or Home Depot,it was only like 4 bucks...the keys they came with also happened to fit a filing cabinet I had in my garage and work the lock!--so now I can lock that up too..

I've got the same box. Got a deal on it because it was locked and they didn't have the key. Found out later from the locksmith, there are only 4 or 5 keys that fit them. If the sticker is still in the upper right drawer, the key code is on the sticker. It's a four digit code, and if you take that to a good locksmith he can make a key based on that, or you can order new ones from Sears if they are still in business. If it's not, I'd just go with the cabinet/mailbox/cashbox universal lock suggested above. Or if you have any friends with the same box, try their keys, odds are if you have four friends, one of them will have keys that fit.

If you have the code, let me know, if it matches I can send you one of my spares!

Great box, just watch the two non-swiveling wheels on the bottom..I tore one of mine off dragging it sideways. I'm not saying it is poorly built, I'm saying don't be stupid like me!
