I have been looking for another blazer for awhile, i bought one few months ago but wasn't really in love with it so when someone asked about buying it i sold it.
well this weekend a found a 91 up in San Jose ( 300 miles away)
one owner all stock california truck, so what the heck hopped on a plane and looked at it.
needs paint 160k miles and never rebuilt the engine or trans ( didn't know that was possible )
thing runs great, even rides pretty darn good.
only thing wrong with the interior is a torn spot on the drivers seat.
he actually bought a whole new interior and was going to swap the drivers seat
so if i just fix the drivers seat i have spare drivers and passenger seat, console and rear seat.
with seat belts. ( may just sell )
hoping to get it painted soon and in the mean time ill order the 4" lift and 35" tires and ill be set.

Don't forget to add new gears for both axles, extended brake line, longer shocks, steering correction, and possible extended driveshafts to that list. :deal:

So i called Offroad Design for a set of springs/shocks/ bolts etc needed for a 4" lift and damn things have got a bit more expensive than i remember, oh and the fact on my last blazer i just did a cheap rancho 4" lift ( that was a bit of a rough ride as i remember ) but since technology has improved in the last 20yrs i'm looking forward to an improved Blazer
And from everything I've read the ORD springs and bilstein shocks should be the hot ticket. I know that putting a modern suspension under my 70 Chevelle makes huge difference
Now for wheels and tires and new paint and I'm set
its going to be a cool ride and heck it will even be worth more than i paid for it ( as long as i just forget about the $15k+ that i will be putting into it ) :)

You know,I have 245000 on mine, engine and transmission have never been opened up,still runs like a top

Are you going to wheel it?

The 90 and 91 had galvanized bodies. They allways need paint but don't rust. The factory paint just didn't stick right on them. My V3500 crew, K5 and my dad's V2500 burb are all 91's and all needed paint work, but were rust free. I would rather do some paint than a bunch of rust repair any day.

Yeah I wouldn't say they don't rust. GM might have made changes to help keep it from happening, but there's an aweful lot of '90 and '91 rust buckets out there.

Yeah, I guess I am spoiled living in desert now. I grew up in the northeast and pretty much anything can rust out there. I bet you see a lot of rust in Ohio too. I have a seemingly endless supply of rust free sheet metal out here.

I'm very interested with how the custom springs work out for you. They were not an option when I bought my last ORD lift. They seem like a great setup. Good luck with the install.
