Browsing a Northern Tool store today and picked me up some Channellock oil filter pliers today, looking forward to seeing how they work.

Small = 9”, fitS 1.75”-3.0“ dia filters
Medium = 12” angled head, fits 2.5”-3.75” dia filters

They had some 15” pliers but they were HUGE, no need for them.

Holey uptown. Guess I'll just shade tree it up with my big screwdriver.
Yeah, I don't remember paying that much, but maybe they've gone up. Or I bought it with a bunch of other even more expensive stuff and didn't notice.

that's OK for a flexplate when you can slide it through a hole.
I actually had one of those that was a homemade handme down. The "arm" was welded solid so it didn't work super great. I suppose that's why I said "had" as it wasn't worth keeping track of over the years and I have no idea what happened to it.

I try to buy new tools when I do projects. I use the project to justify the expense.
Maybe the next time I do an engine I'll "justify" one of those.

Pretty sure that's when I bought mine; what's $20 when you're buying a $1000 EFI. I like to say tools are an investment.

My wife told me I was a Horder this weekend. I told her tools can't count as a hord..... So she would have to redact the statement. She proceeded to tell me I'm a tool horder as well.
I'm ok with it.

WE found a pair of ancient ice tongs at the junkyard in a old step van,we modified the tips to work on a flywheel ,it worked but was cumbersome and most of the engines we needed to turn over needed a long crowbar after they started getting rust in the cylinders..ice tongs.jpg
