WOW. What was the guy doing at the moment it pretzeled like that? I want to say something like he gassed it real hard while the rear was bouncing and the torque in the rear end as he came down was too much

Did he remove a crossmember or something and figured he didn't need it or something when he bobbed the bed :dunno: Looks like one missing and the box is shorter or something .

According to my calculations...

Rockwells + Stock 1/2 ton frame = Carnage

:D

the axle probably came loose when he was partially up the hill and then he slid back on top of it. easiest way i see for it to end up in that position.

No, it looks like the axle is still attached to the springs. Look at the frame at a 90 degree angle and the possition of the bed.

rear frame has a bunch of overhang past the rear tires, im betting the rear of the truck got wedged into the ground and instead of going forward and dragging it, he backed up and it wedged and bent the frame. Ive been in a similar situation before with a departure angle like that, backing up is not an option unless you want the rear bumper to dig into the ground.

I will try and find out how it happened this weekend. I do know he already four-linked the rear. problem solved i guess.

I might be wrong, but how does 4 link solve the problem? We havent even really identified the problem!

OK, assume whatever axle he has, it ended up all the way in the front- looks like the grabbed the rear of the axle, and pulled it forward. Its possible, in a way, that yes, under massive power, it somehow tried to lift up (kinda like an anti squat), but exactly how much power do you need to do that?

If the frame already had some damage, and already had a weak spot, yes, it could certainly bend up like that. a 4 link would help, but it only moves that particular force forward, and onto part of the frame (again). So.. then what? He still has to address the inherent weakness that was apparent in the frame... although if he's doing a 4 link, he's probably beefing up the attachment area, which is probably the solution to the problem.

Yeah, I think he wedged it too. Looks like he was trying to get up the hill, couldnt, and for some reason came back down (probably under power). Whatever happened, that is crazy.:eek1:

That sh*t'll buff out...

DUDE! Are you gonna be at riverrock this weekend? Thats some crazy carnage... All I can think is that he backed off that ledge in the pic and the rear bumper hit HARD>

Gaging by the amount of clay clogging his boggers, I don't think traction had anything to do with this carnage:rolleyes:
