i got The General back today. for those of you who dont know, the general is my 85 blazer as some of u may remember 3 weeks ago i got in a wreck and tore up the drivers side rear and messed up the drvers side front wheel well.
well i got it back today and they replaced both fenders, new tail light, new paint, new chrome trim round the side, new fender trim, new emblems, new door striker bolt cause the re aligned the door, and the fixed my tailgate window.
its great!!!
i already got plans for her for the weekend, the go as follows:
1. order some POR-15
2. adjust tail pipe
3. wire off some rust
4. re align my nerf bars
5 put my subs back in.

i am preparing to paint the underbody of my blazer w/ por15
any suggestions on color?
i was thinking silver to go w/ my truck.

paint the underbody in semi flat black. Silver would look real tacky IMO. You aren't supposed to be staring at the undercarriage, but when you do, semi flat black looks nice, and hides dirt and oil well.

No anti-theft measures on your truck? No pity when its stolen

I just put the POR 15 on, nothing on top of it, becasue it doesn't get sunlight, it shouldn't need it. I think silver wil look bad too. Black is the way to go. Mine is kind of glossy, but its gettin dull......

i was thinking, i was goint to do the frame in black, but then do like my differentials and steering rod and sway bar etc... in silver.
will 1 pint be enough for that?

One quart goes a long way. I just did the inside of mine with Corroless from Eastwood. I ordered 2 quarts but did not use one, didn't even have to open it. One quart should be enough for the bottom.

How much do you want for the other can of Corroless? if you would sell it.....

I wish you would have asked me earlier. I let a buddy of mine have it for 10 bucks. Sorry.

I would would recommend against using the silver POR without topcoating. I used it on my T-Case and Tranny, it turned colors. It turns a weird silver-brown color. The stuff works great on rust, though.

Was it the lack of top coating that caused it to change colors or was it the heat from the trans? What's the heat range for POR 15?
