Traded my 79 blazer for an 81 cj7 and a car trailer today. Jeep runs and drives good, needs a little frame repair. Trailer pulls like an absolute dream. I had 1050$ in the blazer so I think I came out on top. Don't worry, im still a k5 owner, I'll never get rid of my 76.

Have you decided on how to handle the rusty frame situation?

Guess I'm in on this build thread...Cut it up!

We better see some bitchin weld pictures of the back half job!

Bought the metal the other day to fix the frame of the jeep, got the gas tank pulled and rear axle dropped, hopefully this weekend I will be able to start cutting and welding. Here are some pics of what I'm up against.

Holy crap. That second to last picture is amazing. It's gonna take some work!

I should actually say holey crap. lol.

Yah it's pretty crazy. What I am wondering is how the frame is this bad and the body is damn near perfect... Also, the front half of the frame looks fine as well. I've got a good bit of work ahead of me but I'll git er dun. It'll be ready to have a blast in when the weather warms back up.

I wouldn't know where to start with that.

Maybe I'll learn something other than avoid rust.

Probably, the jeep is from Virginia. Most likely it's been there it's whole life up till now. Still doesn't really make sense, seems like the wheelwells, floors etc should be shot as well, but I'm glad they aren't.
