Got my cowl hood today!

[ QUOTE ]
OK, everyone quit....I bought a stinkin' cowl hood because they look good, I could hardly give a hoot about what it does for moving air because mine is closed off anyway. I bought mine soley for looks....and no I'm not going to hell for that. /forums/images/graemlins/whistling.gif

Im am in the same boat..

I had a stock hood with a ding or two in it, I wanted a cool hood for "project bling bling" and there she was for a great price, mine does have the hole though..then again we are talking about a 305 crate motor..not a 502.. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

502..502.. /forums/images/graemlins/thinking.gif that sounds kind of nice..let me say it again..502, wow I am getting a little to happy thinking about that /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

[/ QUOTE ]yeah.... theres a little part of you that wants to build a crawler....remember the s-10????????? /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif BTW anyone who wants to mess with RJF has to deal with me. /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

i've owned 2 functional Chevelle cowl inductions.

the point was, that the cowl does nothing for performance when running a stock air cleaner, so its only functionality at that point would be helping evacuate heat. which yes, i'm sure would be minimal but better than stock i'm sure..

as far as using one for air induction, i've yet to see anyone do it on a Blazer in here.. can't remember anyone here using an airbox..

i do have the laser heat gun at work. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif i'll have to remember to take a few readings for science when that time comes.. tho it may very well be forever.... cowl hood is about #43 on my priority list... /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif

[/ QUOTE ] You've never seen the green in person.....It is old, scratched, and needs a little bit of body work here and there but it does sparkle in the sun far enough away to where you can't see the scratches. I was going to paint it black cherry but now I think I want Charcoal silver.

RJF, where are the pics of your fan setup?

[/ QUOTE ]
If I had a digi cam I would take pics...hopefully the GF will let me take some pics one of these days.

did the thought ever cross your mind to look at the pics, and then ask the question? its pretty obvious what the difference is if you look at the pics. /forums/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

I looked at his (the split one) hood and I cant see anything different except for some lines /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

the split cowl has a indintation or grove down the center, the type rjf and I have are the solid style. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

on another note removing the adhesive for the side molding is not fun /forums/images/graemlins/angryfire.gif /forums/images/graemlins/doah.gif /forums/images/graemlins/yikes.gif
