Got my July \'02 of Off-Road issue today...

...and I am definitely gonna e-mail them to cancel the rest of my subscription. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Man, they suck!! /forums/images/icons/mad.gif I don't even need to go into details here as I did a rant last month about them. /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif

Anybody want to have my subscription, free? I will be glad to e-mail them and tell them to send it to whoever wants it. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif (Unless you guys are too ashamed to read this mag, too! /forums/images/icons/tongue.gif)

I agree, Four Wheeler magazine is not much better, to many show trucks with open 10 bolt differentials and 44" Boggers. I think this magazine got stuck back in the days when everybody ran 16 chromed shocks on their trucks and 8 chromed off-road lights on the roof.
Don't get me wrong, I have 10 bolts on my truck but I'm not crazy enough to put 44" tires on it.

I suscribe to Petersen's 4 wheel & off-road. They've got real world rigs in it. In fact a CK5er is on the cover of the April '02 issue. Check-out TLARSW-1986 K10 in member's rides. He's got some nice pics from Disney, OK.

My only problem with Petersons 4wheel is Wendy Frazier. She apparently doesn't have a complete grasp of the English language, and I find myself gritting my teeth everytime I read one of her articles. The rest of the editors write pretty well, but she needs to go back to just taking pictures (which she is much better at). Until she learns English, or goes back to camera duty, I'm not gonna have much use for their mag.

I would agree some of the magazines hilight Show trucks, but dont bash Fourwheeler just yet. Where have you guys been anyway? I mean, I try to host a run and get you in a Major magazine and only 18 out of millions show? Free prizes and stuff. What do I have to do to get you guys to wheel?

Personally I find some good stuff in every mag out there. Kinda like this site or any other BB on the net, there's the good and the bad and lots in between.

I agree. I still like Four Wheeler alot. It still has a lot of good tech info and some good feature articles now and then. I'm not about to trash FW just yet. /forums/images/icons/wink.gif

Four Wheeler and Petersens "Four Wheel and Off Road" are both great mags. Yes FW did just recently have a pure show truck (44's and 10 bolts) on the cover, but they do have some good, relevant articles. It might be a little bland in the writing styles to appeal to everyone. Petersens is a bit edgier, have have a lot of great articles and buildups of real world (ok, ok, and not so real world mega-buck stuff) rigs. I'd pick Petersens first, FW second.

OK OK, I do buy Fourwheeler magazine to feed my addiction once in a while and sometimes they have some good articles but Petersen's is clearly the best.

Just my opinion.
