Got my memorial day fishing done early

had the day off thursday and friday and work sat and sunday so I went fishing.....wind was real strong and muddied up the bays bad but I did manage a 29" keeper red.

Im not familiar with 'reds'. It looks like a cross between a bass and a carp to me /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

some people call them red drum some people call them red bass.....they fight like they are twice their size, needless to say this one took 20min to land on heavy tackkle, they invade costal marshes but and not uncommonly found offshore as well, they eat about anything, oysters, other fish, shrimp, crabs.

16" is the legal size limit minimum here this one measured 29"....fun fish, great eating!
