So,last night, I get a call from a friend about breakfast this morning. This is a guy I gave my '88 rolling chassis with my '89's 10bolts in it. The '88 had my 462ci with a 465/205 combo. It also had new 31gal. gas tank, 3/4ton brake booster and MC, both new. All my soft top bows, etc. etc...Guess what, he brought all my parts back, with the drive train!
It's all in my barn now! I won't use the motor untill next year, but it's nice to have it all back. My buddy is going to put his '94 Blazer Sport on the old frame.
I'm just psyched to have it all back. Now I have to think about using the 465/205 combo due to the fact that the 60/14 I installed in the fall, both have 4.10's with 38's. Or do I stick with my stage 3 BTO 700r4 and 241 that needs an SYE. WHat would be cheaper and easier? I think replacing the tranny/case is the way to go right now, and save the auto till I can afford gears, drive shafts, etc. I sure liked rowing the gears.
"Bullet Proof" drive train, here we come. Man, talking at you guys sure makes decisions easy! Any one need a BTO 700r4? It has all the stage 3 hard parts with a stage 2 valve body. I'll have to post that in the classifieds, Sorry about that!
Doing it that way will save me some money. I can put that towards my crossover and rear discs.
Can anyone tell I'm excited? I think I need to indulge my wife, again
Oh, here's my first Chevy Big Block, it doesn't look like much, and probably needs a rebuild(it's been sitting for a few years),but it was in the 560hp range with 535ft/lbs. on pump gas. If I remember, it had a 9.49:1 compression ratio. But...New Luk Gold Series 12" clutch, tranny and case rebuilt with about 10,000mi. on them. All new bushings and pivots for the mechanical clutch linkage too!
I'm frickin' giddy!
