Hey all, got myself a brand new Radiator. It came with 2 brass fittings/sleeves and 2 o-rings in a bag. What are they for? I assume its some sort of crush sleeve but thats all I got. 89 CC 6.5 td

The only dizzle radiator I've done was the CUCV, but lessee... Besides the actual water plumbing (i.e. radiator hoses), it should have two connections on one side for the tranny cooler. It may also have two more on the opposite side for the engine oil cooler.

The tranny cooler is just your basic pipe thread stuff, uses the same hardline you'd use for brake or fuel line, flared fittings.

I'm thinking the extra hardware is for the oil cooler hookup, uses fittings like the new-style power steering stuff?

I forgot to mention the PO ran an fittings for the trans and engine oil coolers, I have never done anything with an fittings. The new radiator isnt set up for them either. Can I reuse the fittings of the old radiator and what do I do to get em to fit the new Radiator?

first 2 pics are of the engine oil lines, 3and4 the trans

As long as they're not leaking and the threads are good, sure, you can reuse the adapters. The blue parts look like they're the NPT-AN adapters and the red the AN fittings proper.

If it were me I'd clean 'em up with a wirebrush ... maybe a nice soft one like a brass brush, or maybe beadblast the things. You might lose the nice anodized finish, but the oil lines particularly look kinda gooped up, and you want those things CLEAN.

ya the po put some goop on there to stop a leak, which it did till I bought and drove away with it:D
The top oil one doesnt look to have a adapter anymore. Gonna head over to the local speed shop and see if the have another

The lines are backwords.:angry1: The PO has the engine cooler lines going where the trans line are supposed to be and vice versa. Sooo I have to redo the lines. I have no clue about Steel braided lines and AN fittings. The stock routing for the linesI dont believe is going to work. so any thoughts?
