Well I just got my 14bolt ff swapped into my 72 blazer, Got the detroit installed and disc conversion on it. I tried to get away with just RTV on it, but it started leaking, So I enlisted the help of my 5yr old son to reseal the diff cover for me.

My wife is a professional photographer so she documented the project for us. He did the whole thing himself and was VERY proud. Here are the pics, the wife did some artsy fartsy stuff with them.

Poor kid. He could have grown up to be a famous physicist, brain surgeon, chess master, financial wizard.

Instead, you have already gotten him hooked on fixing trucks.........
First thing you know, you will see a glow under his door when he is supposed to be in bed, mysterious charges will show up on your credit card to auto magazines, K5 and Pirate.

Then, about the time he hits puberty, you will find a gear set from a D60 under his bed.

Its all downhill from here.

That is awesome!!

Haha, I cant fight it, its in his blood. He has his own set of hand tools and has already dismantled moms Vacuum, and countless toys. it sounds horrible when vacuuming his room with all the small screws from the toys he takes apart bouncing around in the beater brush!

Do him a favor and don't let him get a set of ViceGrips. When I was his age, I took apart everything. Cigarette lighter, kitchen appliances, my folk's 16MM projector.
The only thing that stopped me was that I was not strong enough to take stuff off with a pair of pliers.
And my folks were smart enough to keep socket sets away from me. Otherwise I would have taken apart the car.

But, one day, I found ViceGrip pliers, and suddenly I was strong enough to grip stuff I could not before.......

I darn near disassembled the house!!

That rocks! I think i would let my 4yr old daughter, who helps me in the shop, date him. Great pics too

awesome man. not enough kids these days know how to actually get out and get their hands dirty.

pics turned out great too.

give him ORD's phone number and a CCard.......you'll be in big trouble....:eek1:

Can't start 'em too young.... the gift of being able to fix things with his own hands will last him a lifetime...something that can never be taken away...:waytogo:

I always think back to my ex BIL.... he is an attorney.... smart as a whip when it comes to law.....dumb as a rock when it comes to anything mechanical....Even simple things. Things his dad should have shown him how to do..

like changing a flat...

he had a blowout one day,,,ended up putting all of the lugnuts on backwards...and loosing the wheel 10 minutes later....:haha:
