got socket for front spindle...but???

ok so i went to oreilly's auto parts and rented a "4x4 6 lug spindle socket" it has 6 little prongs on it? is that the right one? or do i need the one with 4 prongs? i got 86 blzr, with the factory 10 bolt up front (i think dana 44) am i good? i wanna get right socket for i start tearing her down? thnx guys knottyrich
 
4 prongs, needs to be for 1/2 or 3/4 ton also.
 
Make one with a bicycle peg and weld as many pegs as you need. that's what i did.
 
damn-it , i knew something didn't "feel" right. it said....upon further inspection of box....for 3/4 ton dana 70 axle! well, i sure that have that...yet. thnx man. :waytogo: well back to Oreilly's.

dana 44 = 4 tab
corp 10 bolt = 4 tab

both same socket.

dana 60 first style = 6 tab.
dana 60 second style newer = bigger 4 tab.

corp 14 ff or some dana 60/70/80 rears = 6 tab round shape.

fyi tho. dana 60 first style 6 tab just round the corners a tiny bit on the socket and it fits the corp 14ff and still works the 60 . mine has been working for years just fine like that. :woot:saved money also. :D
