got some runnin gear from a CUCV today, need info on th400 and 205 please

well, me and my buddy bought the front/rear and trans/case from what we think is a M1028. the guy said it was a 28k mile 5/4 ton cuc, but wasnt sure if it was a m1008 or m1028.

first off, the truck had a TH400 mated to a fixed yoke NP205...

i purchased the trans/case/shifters/and front driveshaft for 400bucks.



next off, the rear obviously had a detroit, but the front looks like a regular open carrier, cant see any clutches.




basically, im wondering if anybody had any more info on my th400/205 that i bought, and did they offer that in the M1008's???? or just the M1028???

hop on ebay. search trac loc and power loc lots of pics to help spot the front carrier. prob open anyways.

and the 400/205 only came in the special higher # model trucks. the basic m1008/m1009 got the 400/208's

yours will prob be a round 6 later style 205. for doubler duty you would have to swap to short input from fig 8 style and then order the adaptor for doubler to mate to a round 6 style tcase.

and if you ask me . th400/205/shifter/frt shaft 400 bucks smokin deal.
