yay!

Pulled the rear a/c from my old burb to put in the newer burb...I only need to fab 3 little tabs to make it all work...

I need to cut the 2 way hard line off the old hose & have it crimped on my new hose. Everything else is a bolt on affair.

Did a dumbazz attack last night...fueled up the 6.2 rig, accidentily put GASOLINE in it :doah::doah::doah:

I only got $25 worth, I'm was waiting for the price to come down next week to fill it up. I started it to move it around the yard this a.m., sounded like it had a fouled plug:whistle:...thought to myself its never done that before...

Jokingly jold the s-i-l it had a fouled plug...that's when I realized what I had done. Figured I put ~8~ gallons in it, so I went and topped it off. Only had to go a block.

I changed the fuel filter, put some diesel treatment in it, seems to be o.k. Just a little rough and smokey.

A guy was chatting me up about the burb, I was distracted while fueling...my bad...

I have almost put gas in my diesel pickup accidentally a few times...........................................................................................One day a guy where my friend used to work, borrowed a truck from the fleet to go to NH to move something, and it was a diesel 1 ton GMC.....on his way home he saw it only had 1/2 tank of fuel left,so he stopped about halfway home ,a good 70+ miles from his house, and almost filled the tank the rest of the way ...with GAS!..he didn't even THINK about it being diesel, until he glanced at the fuel gause and saw "Diesel Fuel Only" on the gauge!..the filler cap door also had a sticker saying that to,but evidently he was pre-ocupied and didn't pay heed to it.............................he was horrified after realizing he'd just filled the tank better than 1/2 full of gasoline...........and prayed the truck wouldn't blow the engine ..............................................................................................He not only made it home ok,he noticed the truck seemed to have a lot more power on the way back ,and seemed to idle smoother...when he got to his town,he filled the tank the rest of the way with diesel, and said nothing about it to the boss, and for the next few weeks he dreaded being called into the boss's office and being asked "WTF did you do to my truck"??...but it never happened, the truck ran fine, one day the boss did mention to him "gee, the truck seems to run better since you used it--maybe the long ride helped "clean it out",and the fuel in NH is better grade..than what I've been using??..he just went :dunno: and said nothing ....................................................................................I've heard of people adding a gallon or so of gas to a diesel to aid winter starting, but I never have tried it...

Friend of mine had a Ford 5000 tractor. Loaned it to a friend. Tractor started running low on fuel, guy told his son to go get some gas for it.

Kid did as he was told.

Don't know how much gas he put in, or how much diesel was left, but it bent two valves.

worked at volkswagen and audi, cannot tell you how many times new diesel owners filled up with gasoline, and then wanted it fixed under warranty :doah:

even had a porter fill up the same car 3 times with gas, the fuel system had to be replaced every time (brand new unsold Audi A3). :eek1:

It happens to the best of us. Thats why I just decided a while ago, I would only own diesel powered cars/trucks. that way I dont have to remember to switch back and forth depending on what vehicle I'm driving.

A friend borrowed an elderly widows Kubota tractor. He was going to mow her property then his. I saw the thing dumping out smoke. Drove over and asked him what was wrong. He did not know. I told him it looked like it had gas in it. He said he filled it with the green can in the barn. The owner has a weird way of doing things. The red can is for the orange Kubota, diesel. The green can is for the John Deere riding mower, gas.:doah:

I drained the tank and no big deal.

I screwed up not once, but twice ,and put diesel in my '72 K5 and my '69 GTO,I filled them up at the same station not more than a month apart,at the same dam pump!..I was in a rush to get to work 70 miles up the road, and was pretty hung over and groggy both times,it was a monday morning to boot!--the gas station was busy, every pump had at least one car waiting to get gas, when I saw one "empty",I headed right for it,not realizing soon enough it was DIESEL...:doah:..never even gave it a thought................................................................................................................ I got maybe 10 miles up the interstate, when the engine started "bucking",and white smoke came belching out of the tailpipes and they started spark knocking badly, then I lost speed, they refused to run, anything past 1/8 throttle just made them stall--had to limp home on back roads, call my boss and say I was having car trouble (again!) ,and spent half the day draining the gas tanks ...I had every bucket, gas can and container at my disposal FULL of a now useless half gasoline half diesel fuel mixture to get rid of,about 25 gallons worth!..luckily a greenhouse up the road that accepts used motor oil took it,to burn in their waste oil heaters..bet the plants were toasty using that mix!...

sinclaire stationa here in vegas used to have green handles on all the pumps. my friend put 27gal of unleaded into this '03 for powerstroke once. he realized it as he put the pump handle back and called me. we towed it to our shop a few mi away and dropped the FULL 32gal tank and dumped it. never even started the engine on the mixed fuel.

a small amount of gas mixed in will help with cold starting and actually clean the fuel system a little. but we're talking 1-2gal in a 30+ gal tank.

took it for a 50 mile ride yesterday...seemed to be working fine by the time I got her home...1990 'burb, I'm sure she's seen that before...

I'll top it off again when it gets to about 1/2 a tank...:waytogo:

Hell, if it blows I can start shopping for a Cummins :D
