Had the paint color sanded and compounded today. Still not happy though. It goes back on monday. Anyone have any suggestions to improve the look to my rig besides bigger tires? :D

4" lift with 33's.
Paint job had been a long process.Had the car painted back in August for 1800. With me wetsanding it.

Get it back, car looks like ****. So I give the guy another 400 to color sand it and make it look good.

Get it back and it still looks bad, so today I dropped it off for more compounding, brought it home and mirror glazed it, and took pictures.

It is going back again on monday because there are still color sanding scratches that I want buffed out.

If this guy would have done the job right the first time I wouldn't bugg him so much. But since he half assed it because it wasn't a 5,000 paint job, he has to keep doing more and more.

i bet you and i are alot alike.

Well I paid for this paint job out of my pocket. Being 16, it took me all last summer and all of my breaks off of school to earn it. Then I get it done and it looks horrible.

THis paint job has caused many arguements in my house, that I wish could have been avoided.

My rims are gone for. I've tried cleaning them and they are no use. They are like clearcoated with some crap that will not let them shine. :. :P I need to get a new set which I plan on getting when I upgrade to 35's.

I wonder if you can take the clear coat off the wheels and polish them. Then just keep them polished after that, or CC them again. It may be worth some elbow grease to find out... can't turn out worse than dull cloudy CC, the way they are now. My stock wheels are dull too, but I have H1's waiting to go on, so it's not an issue. I've though about cleaning them up later to re-sell, but the reality is I probably won't get any more for the effort.

not sure you can reclear. saw it done on some Pontaic Grand Am wheels in class way back. looked like a**. but never stripped them and tried to polish em. worth tryin like u said

now as for the clearing job. it shouldn't have took a whole lotta money to make it look good. i've done cheap jobs before. turned out awesome. wish i could see the pics. i really need to become a member

it isn't the clear job. It is that he did a half ass color sanding and then half assed buffed the scratches out.

Eh it wasn't this clean for its whole life but my dad's the original owner.

I'll post more detailed pictures when I get it compounded one more time.

Plans to truck:
35" tires
New rims (Not sure on chrome or black)
Hydro assist steering
New headlights
Getting all new tinted glass.

Bought some tbi parts for the truck tonight as well.
Injector Spacer
Hypertech Power Charger
CFM-Tech Fuel PSI Adapter with the guage
CFM-Tech Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator for GM Tbi

Hopefully these mods will let me see a bit of improvement in the response of the truck.
