I got new goodwrench heads, set the cam stock. Got it broke in 2000-3000RPM for 30 mins. Now it won't idle. Will not... At all. It will fire right up and run just fine with some throttle (about 1200 RPM). I have moved the dizzy all over and have it where it runs the smoothest. It behaves the same with the vacuum advance and without the vacuum advance. I put the same q-jet back on it that was on it a week ago.

I went from a stock cam, 882 heads, stock intake to a summit dual grind cam (270 lift), Edelbrock performer intake, and goodwrench heads.

Where should I start looking?

Thanks for dealing with me. :doah:

good to see it's running again.
Ya it is, not as nice as I wanted. The performer intake is noisy as hell. Sounds like open headers under there. I think it is the exhaust cross over under the intake (for the choke), but it sounds really loud. Drives pretty decent though. I think I need to adjust the rockers too so that may be part of it. There is no pressure coming out of the carb though. I hate engines

Its aluminum , and flowing a good deal better than stock . Cast iron intakes , even the better flowing ones are quieter .

I got it all figured out.

Things to watch for with new intakes

Carb bolts- looked tight but were just a hair short and caused an enormous vacuum leak and was the reason it would not idle.

Choke heat sink - once again felt tight but was a little too long. Bent to fit and snugged down.
--- this problem cause the funny open header noise. It allowed a heavy exhaust leak right next to the carb. You know something is wrong when the intake is louder than the exhaust.

Over all, the truck is awesome now. Pulls a lot harder in all of the gears. Can't wait to tow the truggy. Ya its no diesel but it is payed for, easy to park and cheap to fix.

More power is a good thing , I keep waiting for someone to t-bone the pickup I got so the roller motor can go in the Blazer ( after new freeze plugs and gaskets ) .

These damn roller motors are the chit , 6000 lbs , 200,000 miles and its as quick of the line as my wifes Impala :pimp:
