Just got back to my shop with my "new" truck. I bought a 90 4X4 SRW crew cab tonight for (dun dun duuuun) ...800 bucks:D . It has a D60, 14 bolt, big block, turbo 400, and a 205 case. Now the fun begins...time to dissasemble it and my K5 and make the Blazer bullet proof!!(for the most part anyway).

sorry for the interuption, but I had to tell someone:blush:

dude.. take the front end out of your blazer. Swap with the crew cab...

Keep the Crew cab for a tow rig, Build a 383 put it in your blazer, your set...

that is if the crew cab is in decent shape to drive on the road... Lets see some pics.

Most excellant score !!!! GM drivetrains don't get much better than that .

Tom

I'll try to get pics up tomorrow...gonna keep the TBI 350 I swapped in a few months ago, but definitely gonna swap axles and drive train(less motor). I thought I did pretty well on the price. The truck was actually a bird hunting truck in south Texas, so it is not in such great shape, but the drive train seems to be solid.

800 buck nice score. I was looking at a 88 crew 1 ton 60/14 454 th400 np205 with a plow for 2700!!! only one spot of rust on this one though and it was surface rust.

I thought that was what crew cabs were for...was I wrong? :D
As rare as they are, I just think its a shame when they are stripped down for the parts.

It really is a cool truck, except for the bed that they cut the sides out so you can walk through the side. I am gonna look at it a little closer today and may end up putting the drive train from my Blazer back in it and using it as a tow rig. I will get some pics up today as soon as I can figure out how to use my gallery:confused:

crew cabs rule!!!! i own 2 and would like a couple more lol the 4door chevy is the worlds best invention ;)

Ditto, a '90 is about as good as it gets. The nice front clip, TBI BBC, and the latest interior and exterior conveinences before they went with the newer ugly IFS body.

I would be using the K5 as the parts truck for the crew cab. ;) ;)

Well, someone rigged up a big block in the crew cab and did away with the TBI...they also made a homeade carb spacer for the "aftermarket" motorcraft carb:confused: . As soon as I get a break from work, Im gonna check out what else on this beast is subpar.
